Second attempt to start running…

I‘ve been down this road once already, it was a long road of sweating, leg pain, and shin splints. I’m sure a lot of it was because I didn’t really know how to start, and pushed myself too far too fast, but I really need to start doing something besides biking two days a week.

So here I am again, debating on re-opening my gym account for the third time in a row (the last thing I yo-yo’ed this much over was quitting smoking). Just so I can have access to a treadmill, a pull up bar, and various stretching/working machines and add two more alternating days of workouts between biking… Back to the damn hamster wheel, again, My biggest issue with Gyms is the fact striking up conversation during a workout is taboo. If i pass a biker on a trail we’ll at least say “hi” and keep going, we don’t avoid eye contact like looking will get us arrested.

Regardless, I’m a little more prepared this time, I have an idea of what I’ll start off with and how to ease into running, crossing my fingers.

iDevice Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3

iDevice Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3

I‘ve been jailbreakling my iDevices since my first iPhone 3GS, I’ve seen them require tethering every time you want to reboot your phone, and I’ve seen them require an extra copy of the firmware in order to build the jailbroken OS. Last year was the first time I’d ever seen a PC-less jailbreak using just the Safari browser on the phone itself, it was slick, and extremely simple. Well the Dev team has done it again, and the new iOS jailbreak can be done through the safari browser on your device by vitising http://www.jailbreakme.com on your iDevice. You’ll find an install button, the same kind of button you’d find in the iStore, and the website will take everything from there.

Now, the question, why jailbreak? most people believe the only reason to jailbreak is to be devious and try to download paid applications for free, to be honest this really is not the case. People typically jailbreak an iDevice for the same reason some people choose Android over Apple, the ability to completely cutomize your device for your own style/needs. Jailbreaking opens up a lot more options for changing the way the phone looks, and acts when you use it.

Ending note; if you do choose to jailbreak, and down the road have some kind of problem with your phone, just remember to reset it to factory defaults before bringing it to any apple stores. Also, the only real way I’ve found to “brick” an iDevice, is to kill the battery or dunk it in liquid, I’ve never had jailbreaking brick any device.
